Writer Fatally Shoots Self in Notre Dame Cathedral

A 78 year old man walked to the front altar of the Notre Dame Cathedral and fatally shot himself while worshipers watched from the pews. Police evacuated the 850 year old church after the May 21st suicide. The man was apparently a conservative writer who opposed same-sex marriage. He left a suicide note that was found next to his body. It has not been determined whether the Cathedral will be temporarily closed.
